Spartanburg Children’s Photographer | Field Day!

I have been photographing N & E for a couple of years now, and each time it gets more fun! Their Mom, my friend Lauren, has incredible ideas and loves to try new things. When she wanted to take these two out to a field for a session I was all in. It was also a great time to get out my film camera and play with a roll of Fuji. Some of the photos below were taken with a film camera, and the others with my digital camera. Can you guess which are film?

N & E are not the kind of kids that you want to sit in front on the camera and make say cheese. They are animated, adventurous — and they love one another. I don’t think my children would do this on their own…

E has the most beautiful long hair! Another reason for this session was to capture the beauty of it. She will be donating much of it to locks for love soon. I adore how her hair is almost the same golden hue as the field. And the sun looks like it is just kissing her here!!!

N did his football pose here. He is a superstar on the football field. Really. Look for him to at least play college ball!

N carried E around for a little while… I loved it!!!

Do you LOVE this??? I want this BIG on my own wall!

I had so much fun with these two. It just seems right to end with a walking away shot. I can’t wait until we meet up again. Looks like we are doing urban next! <3

Spartanburg SC Senior Photography | Meet Drew

The end of 2011 was so much fun for me because I began to photograph Seniors!!! I wanted to try it before I advertised it as I wasn’t sure I would like it. I ended up loving it!!! I had two great models: Katie, (I posted her slideshow below a few posts), and Drew. This is Drew. Isn’t he cute? Before you say yes too quickly you should know that his girlfriend came along on this session. I really want Seniors to have a custom experience. I want everything that is relevant in their lives to show through. I want them to bring their favorite clothes, their favorite things, their friends if they want… I want to capture their personality, who they are at this time in their life. They are finishing up a milestone in their life and beginning a new one — all in less than a year. That is a major accomplishment and deserves to be captured by photography. :)

So, who is Drew?

Drew is your future politician. Really. Look for him in a few years on a Tuesday ballot. He has big dreams, and he has the personality, drive and ambition to conquer these dreams. I was very impresed with him! (And how cute is that bow tie???)

Drew’s girlfriend was as equally beautiful as he was handsome. They look like they were made for one another! I couldn’t stop watching them — they are so cute together!

Loved her look so much that I asked if she would take a couple by herself and she humored me… Don’t you want these boots????

Drew joined her and this is the two of them. Playful, fun, teasing,  and just enjoying each other’s company…

Drew is a well rounded, funny and humble person.

He has played baseball and obviously could be a model…

And not only does he have his girlfriend in his life…

But another lady as well — his Mom! Drew brought his Mom along and I was so happy just being with them. They totally respected each other and had a great relationship. I could tell they were very close and he loves her so much. Look at how he looks at her!!!

Before long we discovered a car show up the road. Drew talked himself into this car. Who lets a teenager into their classic show car? Well, I told you he was a politician…

We finished up at an old warehouse. I have to confess that I fell in love with this as soon as I took it…

And I loved this too!

There were way too many to share here so I am going to finish with another favorite. I hope you have enjoyed seeing these. Don’t forget to leave Drew some love! <3

Greenville SC Bridal Session | Narciss

As I looked at my blog posts for last year I realized that I was so busy with the photographing side of the business that I neglected the blogging part that I enjoy so much. I love to make you “famous” for a little while and have your images online for all to see. While I will be blogging new sessions soon I really want to add some older ones in here. i hope you enjoy them.

Narciss and I started out at Zen in downtown Greenville. Zen is the coolest warehouse with all of these lanterns set up and huge windows for natural lighting. I fell in love almost immediately!  Check out the concrete floors! Narciss chose this location for her wedding and the reception was here as well. Very Very pretty venue and gorgeous bride!!!

This is the one that Narciss chose for her Bridal Portrait. Two points if you can tell me what is wrong with this wall…

Remember that natural light? We supplemented with studio flash as well. I love the effects!!!

Isn’t she beautiful? Almost sultry here…

I almost threw this one out but wanted to play with a texture… I love how it turned out!

One of the doors at Zen

After we played around inside we went outside and walked around. Words cannot describe how much I LOVE this wall…

And the doors — oh the doors!!!

We even played in traffic…

We ended up downtown at the bridge over Falls Park. The day was as beautiful as it was hot — check out that sky! And Narrciss — shouldn’t she model??? Gorgeous!!!

Thanks for reading and if you would like to schedule a session of any kind — photo, senior, Bridal — at this location I would be thrilled to return!!! ;)

Spartanburg SC Wedding Photographer | Cupcake Creations

On December 29, 2011 a young couple at my church decided to get married. They had decided this maybe two weeks before. After dating for 7 years it was time. People wondered if they ever would marry, people joked about it.They decided to just do it. Just show up and get married. But this post isn’t about them. Its about their cake, or rather, cupcakes…

Have you ever planned a wedding? If so you know how long it takes to decide on a cake, meet with the bakery, have the tasting, etc… Cupcake Creations stepped right up and agreed to make a small cake for them and cupcakes for their guests. Did I mention this was CHRISTMAS WEEK??? To say the entire timing was a little bit crazy is an understatement… I just had to post a blog about this business because they were so extraordinary during this time!!! You can click on their name above to go to their website and learn about the many flavors they offer and when they serve lunch, yes lunch! They often post specials on their Facebook Page for BLTs or other yummy sandwich combos. You can say a secret word that they give out on their Facebook page and receive a free cupcake! They also do specialty orders for food allergies. As a person who is allergic to nuts I could kiss them for this! Go like them on Facebook and check out the yumminess they made for Randy and Joy below.

If you choose a cupcake theme for your wedding they are very smashable… Congrats to Randy and Joy and GREAT JOB Cupcake Creations on a job well done.

Katie’s Senior Portraits

I am doing something that will hopefully not be too new from now on: a slideshow! I love slideshows and I hope you especially enjoy this one. Katie is an incredible young lady who is brilliant, into theater, cute, and going places. Thanks for the fun day Katie!!!

Beautiful Falls Park Wedding — Greenville, SC

Sometimes there are two people who are so in love and so meant to be together that they make everyone around them want to be happier. Amarylis and Paul are two such people. They were married at the Old Mill Garden in Falls Park, Greenville, SC. Close family and friends attended the wedding and then the reception at The Lazy Goat.

If Amarylis was nervous at all getting ready I didn’t know it. I only saw excitement and happiness. What a beautiful Bride and a gorgeous day to be married! I absolutely love the motion of the hand reaching for the flowers below. It was a “Let’s go get married!” moment. Amarylis was driven from the room where she got dressed to the back of the Park. From there she hopped out and walked to where her Groom was.

Everything was perfect!

After the wedding was over we walked around the park for a few moments. To say there is a variety of places to take portraits is an understatement! Its a gorgeous area…

After just a little while of pics we headed over to the party! The gorgeous stationary was handmade by Amarylis herself. She had Soby’s on the Side make her cake.  Chocolate. This was also the only detail that Paul insisted on helping out on. It was gorgeous — and delicious! Drake’s outdid themselves on the bouquet. The Lazy Goat provided the perfect atmosphere that was casual yet extremely elegant.

Paul and Amarylis played a game with the wedding guests and made sure that everyone was interacting and having fun. I don’t think anyone wanted to leave when it was time! My husband assisted me at this wedding and we had so much fun that we parked the car and went out walking afterwards. Greenville is gorgeous at night, and there is nothing like a wedding and late night stroll over the Bridge listening to the waterfalls to make your heart happy. Thanks for inviting me to your gorgeous wedding!

Summer Family Fun!!! — GA

Summer is a great time to have your family portraits made. The kids are relaxed, the family is tan and healthy looking, and you can do shots by your pond in the back yard.Other than the snakes around me I had a lot of fun while in Georgia with these. It only took a Starbucks bribe to convince me to stay near them — and some borrowed boots! ;)

We had bright sun, we had no sun, but we had fun!

The family:

This one is my favorite!

We did some husband/wife and children…

Finally, I just have to throw these in. These were not posed. This is just what they do at the pond! Thanks for having me and I look forward to seeing you soon!!!

Bridal Portrait Session — Spartanburg, SC

Niki was married today so I can finally show off some of her Bridal Pics! She looked like an absolute princess and I am in LOVE with her gown. Seriously, I want a do-over. She was a beautiful Bride and I can’t wait to get started on the wedding photos. Have fun on your honeymoon!

This is the one she chose to be displayed:

Here are a few of my faves:

Love this Bride, loved the wedding. Chris is a lucky man!

Miss Delaney — Spartanburg Baby Photography

Almost four month old Delaney visited us for photos last week, and I have had a wonderful time editing them! She is such a beautiful baby, just like her two older sisters. I must buy all of her clothes when she outgrows them. Her Mom finds the most fabulous things!  Enjoy the preview!
